"SPOTLIGHT CORNER"

  “Blader’s Dakota Inn”

If you drive south of Wautoma on Hwy 22, and go a little bit west; you come to a little burg called Dakota. In Dakota, you’ll find me this month at Blader’s Dakota Inn.

Brian & Denise Blader bought Dakota Inn from the Zinke’s back in 1999. Many people know the family name from farming & trucking, but Denise grew up with family in both restaurants & taverns. So they were right at home when they took over this busy, but out of the way spot.

They are open 7 days a week, from 11am to close except Sundays.  On Sundays, you’ll find them opening up for breakfast at 9am.  They serve a complete menu with lots of weekly specials; with one of the most popular being their Fish Fry, complete with salad bar on Friday night.  Mexican night, chicken, and several other favorites are on the “Special” menu the other days of the week.

One of their added features is their Banquet Hall; which can seat 200, and has a full bar with even a bandstand.  This is one of the few spots available in the area and is very popular for weddings, private parties, and holiday functions of all sizes.

A couple of their many upcoming events are: Vendor Fair on Oct. 20th.  Anyone having crafts, interior designs, candles, etc. to sell can join in.  On Oct. 27th, they will be having the Team Challenge Poker Run with the Halloween Costume Party that night.

DJ-Karaoke is every Friday night, and some Sat. nights. There’s always something happenin’.
