                                       "Spotlight Corner"

Sneaky Pete's

The first Spotlight of the year found me up in the northwestern part of our county in the little town of Hancock .  The owner, Donna Janecki, is no stranger to the Tavern League.  She first became familiar with the league back in 1979 when she and her late husband Rollie, had the “D & R Bar” across the street, which housed the bowling alley.  They sold that in 1985. The new owner, Byron Goodwin, convinced Donna to be the leagues’ secretary, which she was for 8 years.  Fairly soon after her husbands death in 2000, Donna bought the “Sneaky Pete’s” in 2001. She has never strayed far from this sometimes busy little town.

When she bought this little neighborhood bar, she wanted to keep its familiar and comfortable flavor for all the local patrons.  “A few things here and there”, she says, “but I didn’t want to lose any of its warmth”. She serves fresh, hot sandwiches with pizza 7 days a week. Once a month, during the winter, they have a wonderful potluck dinner, featuring different nationalities, such as Italian, Mexican, etc. “Everyone brings a dish to pass, and its a lot of fun!” She’ll have a Super Bowl party from about 2-6 on the day of the big game.  A dish to pass is always accepted for these type of events.

Donna also keeps involved with her community.  Sneaky Pete’s sponsors a softball, bowling and pool team, along with 2 local stock cars for Golden Sands.  She is also a participant of the Safe-Ride program.

Catch all of her and the local events, including the popular “Lawnmower Parade”, an  interesting event to say the least, on her website at: www.donnas-sneakypetes.com.m The doors open  at 11am everyday, so stop by and say hi to Donna and her friendly little town. E-mail her at: gramdonj@uniontel.net  “Meet old friends & new people.”

Golf Outing  will be at Two Oaks Monday June 25th

Our condolences go out to…  Michael and Tiffany Ross for their loss of the Trading Post due to a fire. We wish them well and hope to see them back in business in the future.

COUPON BOOKS. I am looking for input from members to see if there is interest in doing another one to come out in Spring. I will need more member support in helping put the book together. If interested, please bring your ideas to the Feb. meeting. We will need to get going on this asap if we want it out by Spring. Local businesses have expressed interest in being included again this year. Thanks, Denise

ALERT!   ALERT!   All members in good standing will be on a four color page of the upcoming “Discover Us” magazine.  WATCH for it

Just another reason it PAYS to be a member of the Waushara County Tavern League!!
